Beyond the GSD are Harvard’s 12 graduate and professional schools, along with the College, that together weave a rich tapestry of relevant courses and resources. Like all Harvard students, MRE students enjoy cross-registration privileges that enable them to take eligible courses at the Harvard Business School, the Kennedy School, the Law School, the T. H. Chan School of Public Health, the John A. Paulson School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, and the College.

Work experience is not strictly required but is an advantage for admission, and more importantly, for making the most of the MPP experience. Grace Park MPP 2023 is exploring the intersection of artificial intelligence and public policy. Mark Lee is the Chair of the Department of Architecture at the Harvard Graduate School of Design and a principal and founding partner of the Los Angeles-based architecture firm Johnston Marklee. Since its establishment in 1998, Johnston Marklee has been recognized internationally with over 50 major honors and awards.

The architecture curriculum includes design studio, theory, visual studies, history, technology, and professional practice, with design as the central focus of instruction. Gore is the founder and executive director of the Center for Earth Ethics (CEE) and Visiting Professor of Practice of Earth Ethics at Union Theological Seminary in New York. Once you declare your PAE topic, you will be assigned a faculty advisor with the expertise to help you succeed. Most first-year MPP students take 38 credits, which consists of 18 core course credits in the fall and 16 core course credits credits in the spring. Many students also begin taking elective courses in the spring of their first year. In 1923, a specialization in urban planning was established under the degree program of Master in Landscape Architecture. In 1929, North America's first urban planning degree (at the graduate level) was established at Harvard under short-term funding from the Rockefeller Foundation.
